Advaita Academy celebrated Shankara Jayanti 2021 by organizing the 2nd Edition of Global Festival of Oneness, from May 17 to June 16th. As part of the festival we featured talks by around 60 Scholars, Sages, and Seekers to share about Shankara’s life, works and influence across multiple dimensions that include Philosophy, Oneness, Leadership and more. On June 7th, Morning session : Swami Sarvapriyananda ji spoke on the topic "Avasthaatraya Prakriya - The three states of being". Swamiji noted that the Upanishads employ many prakriyas to show us the path to absolute reality. One of the most important being Avasthaatraya Prakriya, an enquiry into the waking, dream and deep sleep state. Mandukya Upanishad elaborates on this and shows how, all these states are just the projections of that one reality and that Turiya is the true nature of ourselves. Swami Sarvapriyananda is the Minister and Spiritual Leader of the Vedanta Society of New York since 2017. Swamiji joined the Ramakrishna Math and Mission in 1994 and received Sanyasa in 2004. Before being posted to the VSSC’s Hollywood Temple, Swamiji served as an Acharya of the monastic probationers’ training center at Belur Math. He has served the Ramakrishna Math and Mission in various capacities including being the Vice Principal of the Deoghar Vidyapith Higher Secondary School, Principal of the Shikshana Mandira Teacher Education College at Belur Math, and the first Registrar of the Vivekananda University at Belur Math. |
