How to Tape and Float an Uneven Rectangular Drywall Sheet - Drywall Repair (Part 1)

In this Do It Yourself video tutorial series, I am explaining How to Prepare, Tape, and Float a new piece of Uneven drywall due to water damage. I cut away on either side of the drywall to take away the loose edges. This also takes away the highness of the two edges. It also creates a gap in-between the two pieces of drywall that I can now fill with a setting type compound (joint compound). This fill coat bonds or glues the two pieces of sheetrock together at the base level. This is so important, because it creates a solid foundation. I then tape the new drywall with paper drywall tape. I use a USG EasySand 90 setting type mud. I use my Marshalltown Trowel and Hawk to tape and float out the drywall joints.
