South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster held a briefing on Hurricane Ian Tuesday.

McMaster and other state officials addressed the potential impacts the storm could bring to the Palmetto State.

McMaster emphasized that the state is prepared.

"We are fully prepared for whatever comes," McMaster stated.

Officials from the SC Emergency Management Division, SC Dept. of Health and Environmental Control and other state agencies spoke.

All echoed McMaster/s statement that the state is prepared and they are closely monitoring the storm's path.

McMaster said they have been in contact with Clemson and the University of South Carolina and no decisions regarding school closures have been made at this time.

McMaster said for everyone to continue with their normal activities but "prepare for the worst and hope for the best."

Chief Meteorologist Ed Piotrowski will have a Facebook live Tuesday at 8 p.m. for an update and in-depth look at any potential impacts the Grand Strand or Pee Dee may see.
