The Inventory Stela, the Sphinx and the Great Pyramid | Ancient Architects

video thumbnail
One of the most controversial items to discuss when studying the history of Ancient Egypt is the Inventory stela, an object found at Giza during excavations of the Isis Temple, by French archaeologist Auguste Mariette in 1858.

The mainstream view is that it was carved in the 26th dynasty, but as Robert Schoch wrote in his paper from April 2018, it is highly likely that the stela is a copy of an Old Kingdom original.

The Inventory Stela may well prove an ancient Origin of The Sphinx and The Great Pyramid, and contrary to popular believe, it could be one of the most important Egyptian documents ever discovered.
