Patrick Pietroni - IAPT: Where we were, where we are, and where are we going?

Pietroni explores the concept of organisational memory in relation to the emergence of the IAPT programme and Richard Layard’s success in securing over £400 million to improve access to
psychological therapies.
He will then describe the research findings regarding the way the current IAPT programme has been implimented and how it has performed. He will then describe his team's attempt to improve
the current IAPT model by developing an integrated therapy-link network supported by a learning collaborative and evaulated by a research consortium using a mixed-model of research methodoligists.

Patrick Pietroni is a Jungian Analyst. He retired as Dean of General Practice and Professor of Community Care and Primary Health. He has consulted to numerous psychotherapeutic organisations both voluntary and statutory. He is the Director of The Centre for Psychological Therapies in Primary Care, the Public Health Lead, Mental Health and Wellbeing for Shropshire, and Editor of The Journal of Psychological Therapies in Primary
Care.
