The Work Sharp Pivot Knife Sharpeners - Everything you need to know |
|
The Work Sharp Pivot Sharpener Family includes 3 different pull through knife sharpeners. They use s convex carbide to sharpen the blade and a ceramic to hone. All three sharpeners incorporate the same 3 stage process when sharpening a knife.
Start by sharpening with the carbide. Move the red lever to the left in order to release the pivot response system. This will allow the carbides to follow the curve of a blade and increase the rake angle to remove more material and sharpen quickly. Pull the knife through 4-5 times. Next, move the red lever to the right to lock out the pivot and once again draw the knife through the carbides then finish on the ceramic hone. Around 8-10 strokes. Beyond sharpening knives, each individual sharpener in the pivot family has an added sharpening feature. The Pivot includes a small diamond plate with a groove for sharpening fish hooks. You can also use the plate to sharpen larger tools or make larger repairs to damaged knives. This Pivot Plus has a tapered diamond rod. Perfect for sharpening serrated blades and can also be used to repair damaged blades. The Pivot Pro has a few added features, starting with a large diamond plate that can be used to repair damaged blades or sharpening larger tools. There is also a large carbide used to quickly set an edge on axes and hatchets. Lastly there is a removeable scissor and sheer sharpener hidden in the base of the sharpener.
