New York Central Hudson # 5344 in 1934 was redesign and became the first streamlined locomotive in America, This locomotive named Commodore Vanderbilt. The streamlining body was later replaced to match the last ten J-3a locomotives that had been built with streamlining designed by Henry Dreyfuss.
