Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg is holding a press conference.
Mr Bragg said that Mr Trump faces 34 felony counts of falsifying business records “with intent to defraud and intent to conceal another crime”. “We cannot and will not normalise serious criminal conduct,” Mr Bragg added. Donald Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts of falsifying business records and conspiracy for his alleged role in hush money payments to two women. Mr Trump, who wrote "WOW, they are going to ARREST ME" on Truth Social as he left Trump Tower earlier, is set to address America from the hallway of the packed New York City courthouse after his arraignment. He was fingerprinted and processed, but no mugshot was taken as he became the first American president to be arrested on criminal charges.
