Welfare policy and the Trump administration: What do conservatives think? | LIVE STREAM

video thumbnail
With a Republican administration planted firmly in Washington, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has begun returning welfare programs to the principles that animated bipartisan reform more than 20 years ago. But changing welfare is complicated, contentious, and precarious — so assessing the Trump administration’s work thus far is a challenge.

The Heritage Foundation’s Robert Rector, Brookings Institution’s Ron Haskins, and former HHS Assistant Secretary for Children and Families Wade Horn are lifelong conservative observers, architects, and critics of welfare policy. They bring the information and perspectives necessary to understand the nuances of welfare-related developments and assess its successes and shortcomings.

Join AEI for a conversation about how the Trump administration has fared, what direction it is expected to go, and what it can do to make further progress.
