Today we take you to a ghost village in Mexico, just across the border from the US state of Texas, which was recently caught in the middle of a turf war between the Zetas and Gulf narcotic drug cartels. At one point almost 90% of the population had fled the violence. Now the Mexican Army has been deployed, and residents have started returning, hoping to bring the village back to life. France 24's Laurence Cuvillier and Matthieu Comin sent us this report.

An exclusive in-depth report from a FRANCE24 correspondent, followed by comment and analysis with the author and the anchor in the newsroom in Paris.
