Plot of the movie ;-
To avoid the pressure to marry, Rajiv(shammi kapoor) leaves his family mansion and goes to Kashmir. There he meets Champa(sharmila tegore), the beautiful Kashmiri girl who sells flowers for living. They fall in love but Mohan, a local suitor tries to persuade Champa s blind father to give his daughters hand to Mohan(pran). Rajiv and Champa find themselves in the midst of events so stunning that their dream world seem to collapse. The story ends with the most unexpected twist and moves on to the breath taking climax brilliantly presented in the valleys of Kashmir. ABOUT Poet/Lyricist S.H. BIHARI :-

Shamshul Huda Bihari (S. H. Bihari) was born in 1922 in the district of Ara in the East Indian state of Bihar and died on 25 Feb 1987 of a heart attack. He studied in Calcutta, at Presidency College and graduated with a BA. He wrote love poems and songs (for most of his life) in Urdu and Hindi, he was also fluent in Bengali. As a youngster, he played football in Calcutta for Mohan Bagan. His brother Huda Bihari was a director (Jogi) and producer (Do Badan, Isi Ka Naam Duniya Hai ).

In 1947, he moved to Bombay from Calcutta, where he'd been living and studying. For the rest of his life, he wrote, with varying success, for the Hindi/Urdu film industry. In the late fifties and sixties, his work, particularly his partnership with composer O.P. Nayyar and the singer Asha Bhosle was exceptionally popular and the old catalogue continues to sell. With the decline in romantic movies during the seventies, his recorded work was limited though he continued to write throughout the period.
