In this video for beginners, we will take a look at the general concepts of drawing in perspective, how to draw it freehand and how to construct the depth in one point perspective.
This video will address a few questions like: how do I construct the perspective? How to have drawings with good proportions? We will start by drawing simple boxes in perspective, in one point perspective, then we will sketch a simple composition made from cubes.
In order to draw by freehand we need to understand how to construct the perspective.
I will be honest with you and stay it from the beginning: this technical method of constructing the perspective in not used so commonly, you mostly need it when having an exam, like admission to architecture school or any other technical drawing exam. Most of the times you will draw free hand.

But I also have to tell you that in order to keep good proportions in your free hand perspective sketches you need to know a few concepts of technical perspective and to apply those to your quick sketch.

We will talk about: the horizon line, the vanishing point, the eye level, the cone of vision, constructing the depth, the projection plane / the picture plane, the diagonal vanishing points, proportional drawing
