How Paris is bringing nature to the city — green architecture | Marion Waller | TEDxTUBerlin

video thumbnail
The biggest challenge of our generation is fighting climate change.
We talk about eating organic food and riding bikes but we don‘t talk so much about buildings - the place where we live and work.
The construction industry is one of the least innovative and productive industries in the world — but it doesn‘t have to be.

In her talk, Marion Waller points out why we need a building revolution and which new rules we should apply on architecture to bring nature to the city.

Marion Waller is passionate about cities and environmental issues. She works as an advisor to the Deputy Mayor of Paris in charge of urban planning and architecture and has been the lead advisor on several competitions that have promoted ecological architecture in Paris. She has published her first book in 2016, called “Natural artifacts” about ecological restoration and the ways of re-inhabiting nature.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
