The Skoda Kamiq is one of the best small SUVs on the market. It is very small and compact on the outside but remarkably roomy and spacious inside and in the boot. Under the bonnet is a frugal 85kW 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine with front-wheel drive, but you can also get a 110kW turbo four-cylinder.

The Kamiq competes with its cousin, the Volkswagen T-Cross, plus other compact SUVs like the Ford Puma, Hyundai Venue, Kia Stonic, Toyota Yaris Cross and others.

It is quite a lot more expensive than when it launched, however. The 2023 Kamiq 85TSI Style costs $37,990 driveaway. The four-cylinder models start at $42,490 driveaway.
