سورة الضحى
Surah aḍ-Ḍuḥa
(Morning Brightness)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيم
Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem
(In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind)

1. وَٱلضُّحَىٰ
Wad duhaa
 (By the morning brightness)

 2. وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَىٰ
Wal laili itha sajaa
 (And by the night when it is still (or darkens)

 3. مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَىٰ
Ma wad da'aka rabbuka wa ma qalaa
 (Your Lord has not forsaken you (Prophet) nor does He hate you)

 4. وَلَلْءَاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ
Walal-aakhiratu khairul laka minal-oola
 (And the Hereafter is better for you than the present)
 5. وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰٓ
Wa la sawfa y'uteeka rabbuka fatarda
 (And your Lord will give you everything so that you shall be well-pleased)

 6. أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيمًا فَـَٔاوَىٰ
Alam ya jidka yateemang fa aawaa
 (Did He not find you an orphan and gave you shelter?)
 7. وَوَجَدَكَ ضَآلًّا فَهَدَىٰ
Wa wa jadaka dwaal lang fahada
 (And He found you lost (searching/looking) and guided you)
 8. وَوَجَدَكَ عَآئِلًا فَأَغْنَىٰ
Wa wa jadaka 'aa-ilang fa aghnaa
 (And He found you in need and made you self sufficient)
 9. فَأَمَّا ٱلْيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ
Fa am mal yateema fala taqhar
 (So do not be harsh with the orphan)

 10. وَأَمَّا ٱلسَّآئِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ
Wa am mas saa-ila fala tanhar
 (And do not harass the ones who ask for help)
 11. وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ
Wa amma bi ni'mati rabbika fahad dith
 (And talk about the blessings of your Lord)
