video thumbnail
Marius Wolf's TEDx talk delves into the fascinating world of water moving around our planet, observing both the beauty and simplicity of the natural water cycle. Marius explores the contrasting impact of urbanization, industrial agriculture and climate change on this natural system and presents nature-based solutions for a regenerative future. Focusing on concepts like permaculture, blue-green-grey infrastructures, and water-sensitive urban design, he addresses the question how we can learn from Earth's water cycle to design cities and landscapes that thrive. Marius Wolf is a water lover and environmental visionary. Trained as a civil engineer and permaculture designer he followed his passion and lived in different parts of the world. From Indonesia to Portugal, Marius witnessed both the beauty of natural paradises and the destructive environmental consequences of a globalized world. He works as a project-engineer developing integrated water concepts and designing constructed wetland systems for wastewater treatment and reuse. Now, he shares his passion for circular, nature-inspired systems in his lectures and advocates for a new way of whole-systems thinking. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
