Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain: Chapters 3 & 4 - Getting Into Right-Side Mode |
|
In these chapters, Betty Edwards talks about the differences between different "modes" our brain operates in. In right-side mode (or "R" mode), we are in a better position to simply draw what we see, rather than filtering our drawing through our language faculties and basically overthinking things. Her book guides the reader through some exercises that help us cut out the left side of the brain, and get into a more creative mode. Along the way, I experienced a nice sense of "flow" that made the time spent drawing fly by!
