Constanta and Mamaia | Romania's Resort Paradise

video thumbnail
Constanta is a historical Romanian city by the Black Sea. During Roman times it was known as Tomis, and the Roman poet Ovid was once exiled here. Today, it's Romania's resort paradise.

Constanta is filled with archaeological findings and ancient sites, and history is found around every street corner. From the Roman archaeological findings displayed in the center of Constanta, to the Genoese Lighthouse, to the art noveau Casino from the 19th century. And let's not forget the Carol Mosque - Romania's first concrete building dating back to 1910 - and the House of Lions, an old Masonic Lodge meeting place.

Aside from history, there's also nightlife, pubs and restaurants, and plenty of beaches in Constanta. Most importantly, the nearby city of Mamaia just north of Constanta is filled resorts, hotels, and beach bars and restaurants. This is the prime resort location in Romania - although it's not very famous outside of the country.

This video shows you both Constanta and Mamaia, in a mix of history and touristy beach views. Come along as I explore Romania's resort paradise by the Black Sea!
