How maritime robotics can save our oceans | Reinhard Grabler | TEDxDonauinsel

video thumbnail
With his developed underwater robot, Reinhard brings maritime technology into the classroom and educates future engineers to work on solutions for saving our oceans. The established robotics competitions are thematizing pollution, the dying of reefs, the issue of microplastics, noise pollution and much more, in order to make students become aware of the threats to the marine ecosystem. Reinhard Grabler is an undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering - Management at the Vienna University of Technology, and co-founder of the Practical Robotics Institute Austria. As Director of Sea Shepherd Austria he has been active at the frontline of marine conservation since 2014, in Austria as well as on international campaigns. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
