Cities across China begin celebrations ahead of National Day |

Cities across China put up decorations and held activities to welcome the upcoming National Day, which falls on October 1. The colorful cockscomb, asteraceae along with over 20 other kinds of flowers formed a sea of flowers in the city of Jiaohe, northeastern Jilin Province. In the city of Quzhou, eastern Zhejiang Province, the terraced fields along the mountains are ready for a bumper harvest, adding a joyful atmosphere to the festivities. To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, activities were held in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou as well.
