it’s the largest blackwater swamp in North America, and the lifeblood of the St. Marys and Suwanee rivers. But the 400-thousand-acre Okefenokee swamp is also right next to a proposed strip mine that opponents say threatens the health of this critically important wilderness. I’m joined now by three people deeply familiar with the Okefenokee and its value.
