The fifth-generation Nissan Pathfinder was first shown almost 18 months ago, and now it’s finally due to go on sale in Australia in the second half of 2022.

Tim Nicholson was among the first to get up close with the new model in Australia in May, with Nissan’s giving us our first opportunity to see it in the flesh. It will be up against traditional rivals like Toyota Kluger, Kia Sorento, Mazda CX-9 and Hyundai Santa Fe, plus the relatively new Hyundai Palisade, and we look forward to driving it later this year to see how it stacks up.

For now, we can tell you the interior and exterior design is a huge leap forward, with a new captains chairs option and one-touch second row mechanism. The multimedia and safety tech also promise to catch up with the competition.
