My interest in the Manson Family goes back many, many years and I'm hoping to do a few videos on them delving into some of the lesser known aspects of their existence. In this first installment I discuss the mysterious death of Ronald Hughes, who had actually been brought on to be part of Charles Manson's defense team when he and other members went on trial for their murders in 1970. Hughes would ultimately take on defense work for family member Leslie Van Houten. A bit of a renengade, Hughes got on Manson's bad side quite a bit and while the trial was going on Hughes suddenly vanished. He wouldn't be found for months when his body was found in the rural hills outside Los Angeles. Many to this day theorize that he was murdered by members of the family as retribution... I discuss that as well as good deal other aspects of this death. |
