Tucker Carlson to interview Vladimir Putin after Biden interference claims

Journalist Tucker Carlson has alleged the Biden administration spied on his communications in order to prevent a planned interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In a video posted to X on Tuesday, Carlson alleged the Biden administration illegally spied on him to prevent a previous Putin interview, a claim the White House labelled "ridiculous".

“It’s a ridiculous premise and a ridiculous statement that was made about this administration," White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told a reporter on Tuesday after declining to comment moments earlier.

"So I just want to be very, very clear—it's just ridiculous.”

The former Fox News host is currently in Moscow to interview the Russian President, although the date and time of the sit-down are currently unknown.

Tucker defended his intention to interview Putin, stating "Americans have a right to know all they can about a war they are implicated in".

Putin's interview with Tucker will be his first with a Western journalist since the Ukraine invasion in February 2022.
