House Torres has been replaced by the Bonaparte Dynasty, founded under the rule of Napoleon the great. After the death of the martial mastermind in the battle of the Pyramids, his son and heir has taken the throne. The 3rd to hold the title of Emperor, he as overseen the reconstruction of Sardinia but struggled to fix the nations struggling economy after it languished in the wars of his father. Industrial reform and growth is happening but far too slow to keep the wealthy burgher and noble class happy. A poor Empire is hardly one at all, despite the diplomatic changes and alliances that have strengthened the nation many are starting to look for other options. The heirs of Saeumundr live on in Castalla and Mexico but the old rivalry is once more far too strong to invite loyalty. This leaves only one choice, the son of Castoro the Unlikely who was raised in the far East where his family took refuge. If the loyalists of the old Torres house can find enough support perhaps things could be changed for the better.
