video thumbnail
Angel Solis '14 was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in April 2006 and has since then undergone numerous surgeries and emergency room visits. He has spent the past two summers performing research on Crohn's disease with aims to improve treatment options for those suffering. Today he is finishing up his senior year as a biology major at Carleton College and hopes to one day conduct research in disease biology to help those with chronic illnesses. Angel's TEDx talk will discuss "The Three Flare-Ups You Meet in College."

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
