How a calorie was not a calorie, as was shown by interventions with young parients with NAFLD who had received isocaloric diets free of added sugar.
Nonetheless, a Lobbyist for the German Sugar Manufacturers claimed that overeating was the underlying problem.
That‘s when Dr. Lustig, who had sat in on a discussion between German panelists who consistently ignored the content and take away of his previous talk, took the microphone. Here is what he said.
