Uganda: Rewarding future social entrepreneurs (Learning World: S5E18, part 1/3)

45 Ugandan schools entered the School Enterprise Challenge, an international business competition for students that aims to identify and reward future social entrepreneurs.Learning World visits the Standing Tall Training Centre, which won the Uganda Business Planning Prize in 2013.

The charity-run primary school offers its 70, mostly under-privileged students, entrepreneurial education linked to farming. The students must submit their applications to enter the competition. Afterwards, they work on a business plan, which is validated and implemented to run the acutal business. This way, the students acquire management and practical skills to help them to find future employment.
