Both todo lists vs time blocking has their own advantages and disadvantages.

If you think of Steven covey’s model for how to decide what to do, you on the onset, you decide on the onset how you’re going to spend your most valuable time as opposed to letting whatever seems the most urgent take control of your day.

With time block, you can see the big picture of your day and plan your schedule effectively.

And the final reason Time blocking wins is because it allows you to actually have a big reality check on how much you can get done.

What I recommend you to do at the end of the day is to adjust your timeblocks based upon how long something actually took so you can see where you made mistakes planning.
