How to install Virtual Box 5.1.4 for Linux Mint 18
Hi everyone, There are two ways to install Virtual Box on your Linux Mint 1. You can edit your sources.list file and you can get the repository files from there. 2. You can download 32bit/64bit .deb packages and you can install with GDebi Package Installer We'll use the first method in this video. To do that, first open /etc/apt/sources.list file with your favorite text editor. I use Atom as text editor, and I'll use it. sudo atom /etc/apt/sources.list Type your root password add the following line to your /etc/apt/sources.list deb http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian xenial contrib Save & Close Download and register public keys wget -q https://www.virtualbox.org/download/oracle_vbox_2016.asc -O- | sudo apt-key add - wget -q https://www.virtualbox.org/download/oracle_vbox.asc -O- | sudo apt-key add - You can use CTRL+SHIFT+V keyboard combination to paste commands in terminal. Or just right click and click paste, How is easy .. To install Virtual Box, sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install virtualbox-5.1 If you dont have dkms package, install it also sudo apt-get install dkms Installation is completed. You go to menu and find Virtual Box Click Oracle VM VirtualBox To create new virtual box, just click new icon in the menu Follow steps to create a new virtual disk.
