What's the difference between breaking and overcoming barriers? Which way is better? Shane explores the two through the story of Doctor Tu Youyou, the founder of the malaria cure. Shane Thomas is a 17-year-old IB student at the British School Jakarta, passionate about chemistry and biology. He has thoroughly enjoyed his work in CAS and has taken a focus on providing teaching aid to younger students, via providing online videos and resources as well. Outside school, Shane has been a Manchester United fan since 7 years old and is often sleep deprived in classes from Champions League (or more realistically Europa League) nights. Above all, Shane's talk stems from a desire to speak about a topic he is passionate about, and hopefully inspire any of those who listen as well.
