A young man finds a mysterious notebook with the power to kill. He then decides to use this to his advantage, and starts killing everyone he considers criminals. But just when things seem to have spiraled out of control, the world's greatest detective is hired.
Light puts in place a complex scheme to allay suspicions that he is responsible for the deaths. Along the way, he meets a passionate fan who is willing to help him.
