Volunteer Extraordinaire Wong Ee Lynn once said that "volunteering empowers you to be the difference you want to see". For years, the professionally trained lawyer has actively and extensively volunteered to be that difference for causes close to her heart, primarily animal welfare and environmental ones. The senior SPCA volunteer who started in 1996 has also been a member of the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) since 2001. She started a personal animal rescue project called Project Second Chance 7 years ago. The list goes on. The extent of her activism and voluntary work done during her spare time would put most to shame.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
