There are three important factors that LOK improves upon from ATLA, which give LOK its own personal strength and identity as a sequel. Though both shows have their own ups and downs, The Legend of Korra makes itself stand out with these core fundamentals to its story.

EDITOR'S NOTE: I do not in any way believe the LOK is the overall better show. I personally do like ATLA more as a whole, but there definitely are three components to LOK that I believe is done better here compared to how it was handled in ATLA.
