Israeli jets struck Hamas targets in Gaza this morning after the terror group was accused of violating the ceasefire agreements.
#Israel #Hamas #Gaza Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said that Hamas did not meet its obligation to release all female hostages and fired rockets at Israel. “Amid the return to combat, we stress the government of Israel is committed to achieving the goals of the war — releasing our hostages, eliminating Hamas and ensuring that Gaza can never again threaten the people of Israel,” it said. The fighting restarted just minutes after the temporary pause, which began a week ago on November 24, ended. It had been extended by several days with the help of mediators from Qatar, Egypt and the US. During the week-long truce, Hamas released more than 100 hostages, most of them Israelis, in return for 240 Palestinians freed from prisons in Israel.
