HOW TO GAIN INSTAGRAM FOLLOWERS in 2019:

1. CONSISTENCY: Don’t get wrapped up in number of likes or engagement on every photo. IG wants you to be consistent. It determines how many people’s feed it’s gonna put your photo in based on the amount of engagement (comments and likes) in the first 48 hours, with the first 3 hours being the KEY timeframe. The more you post, the more chances you have to achieve this type of engagement.

2. CTA IN CAPTIONS: I never loved the whole “ask a question in every single caption,” but it really does work. Any way you can cleverly force people to comment increases that engagement which puts your post on more people’s feeds and discover pages which leads to more followers!

5. ENGAGE WITH SIMILAR ACCOUNTS: It’ll take a long time, but this is a great way to get your profile out there and seen and the love returned. Identify key influencers in the space and turn on post notifications for them! That way you can be first to engage.

6. POST photos, carousels, AND video: IG wants this!!! They also favor when people go live so going live every now and then might help.

7. BE VERIFIED: Obviously getting verified would help you gain followers because it’s kinda like that street credit people see it and are automatically more intrigued. Now I go into more depth on the various ways to get verified in my last IG hacks video, and I am still working on it myself… but the main way is to request through IG.

8. KEEP hashtags to a minimum - only use 1-3!

9. This one is self-explanatory but post interesting pictures people! Get creative, try to think of photo ideas that are a little different. So that it makes someone stop and look for a second. Then check out your profile, see more cool pics, and click follow. But at the same time, don’t get so wrapped up in this that you stop posting because you worry a photo isn’t cool.

10. Care about your audience. Respond to all comments if you can! They’ll care more and it’ll build more of a community!
