Internal perminant magnet (IPM) motors have both magnetic and reluctance forces that cause rotation. These motors are very sophisticated and require advanced control techniques. The combination of different torque causing elements and advanced control techniques gives them a variety of sources of torque ripple, noise, and vibration.
