How To Develop Mental Toughness | Training the Mind: Ninja Martial Arts (Ninjutsu)

video thumbnail
In this video, How To Develop Mental Toughness, I explain the steps needed to be able to train the mind to become stronger and more resilient when under stress.

Mental toughness is a measure of individual resilience and confidence that may predict success in sport, martial arts, self defense, survival, education and the workplace. As a broad concept, it emerged in the context of sports training as a set of attributes that allow a person to become a better athlete and able to cope with difficult training, difficult competitive situations and emerge without losing confidence.

There are several factors as to why a positive mentality or mental toughness is a huge benefactor to success. An elite martial artist must be able to handle pressure, have self-belief and avoid any lifestyle distractions. They must have that urge to win and know that they have all the capabilities to do anything they desire. This separates the elite martial artists from the good martial artists.

In the realm of self defense, it is important to know how to protect yourself physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. The only way to do this is to train the mind to be able to withstand stress, develop a strategy and then having the confidence in yourself to be able to carry out that strategy, so that you can become successful in your objective.

This lesson is directly for the practitioners of the ancient Japanese koryu martial arts of the ninja and samurai, such as ninjutsu (ninpo) and bujutsu (budo).
