UroLift is a minimally invasive treatment for the management of urinary symptoms related to BPH. There are several treatment choices for BPH beyond a traditional TURP including medications, minimally invasive options such as Rezum and UroLift. For larger prostates greenLight laser prostatectomy of robotic simple prostatectomy are options.
UroLift involves the placement of a series of small clips into the prostate to retract enlarged prostate lobes. It is usually performed in a day case setting with the majority of men being discharged without the need for and indwelling catheter. Improvement in obstructive symptoms can be almost immediate with bladder related symptoms improving over the course of the ensuing few weeks.
