Host Ellen Degeneres jokes about Jennifer Lawrence's epic fall at the Oscars last year and her tumble on the red carpet this year in her hilarious opening monologue speech! Ellen Degeneres returned to host the 86th Academy Awards after a 7 year hiatus, and the best part of her opening speech was all about J. Law's issue with gravity, take a look.

Ellen saying "I'm not gonna bring up what happened last year when you were... it's embarrassing and then people just talk about it's just... for those of you that don't know what I'm talking about last year she fell, she tripped...let's show that clip. I'm kidding!"
Throughout the entire bit Jennifer Lawrence was laughing hysterically in her seat and seemed to love the bittersweet attention. Ellen Segway-ed into that J.Law joke by comparing the nominees in the room to the Hunger Games, "I don't want you to think it's a competition... who are we kidding? It's The Hunger Games; you're starving, there's cameras everywhere, Jennifer won last year..." Good point, Ellen. In her monologue the comedian also joked about Los Angeles residents fear of rain, "Tough couple of days for us... it has been raining, were fine. Thank you for the prayers." Yes, it's been tough here in Hollywood with all the gorgeous celebrities wandering around. Speaking of which, Ellen gave a shout out to Jared Leto, "He's the prettiest... boy is he pretty."
