The 2021 FCS National Championship Game between Sam Houston State and South Dakota State had a thrilling ending as the teams exchanged leads in the fourth quarter. SDSU Jackrabbits running back Isaiah Davis had two amazing touchdown runs in the fourth quarter to give South Dakota State a 21-17 lead over the Bearkats, but Sam Houston State responded with a touchdown drive of their own to take a 23-21 with 16 seconds left. Sam Houston State held on for a 23-21 victory over the South Dakota State Jackrabbits for their first national championship in program history.
