Operating from an ISI-protected mansion in Karachi, Dawood Ibrahim owns numerous properties in the port city. However, Pakistan officially denies providing refuge to him. Designated a global terrorist by the US in October 2003, Dawood Ibrahim, who has also been named as a foreign narcotics trafficker by a former US president, allegedly smuggles narcotics from Afghanistan and Thailand to various parts of the world.
