Prince William arrives in Cornwall for start of two-day trip in sign Kate is on the mend.

It is widely believed that Prince William's arrival in Cornwall for his first round of engagements in the Duchy of Cornwall is an indication that Princess Kate is doing well. After spending some time in Cornwall, the Prince of Wales will continue his journey to the Isle of Scilly on Friday after arriving in the southwest of England on Thursday.

Since it was revealed in March that Kate was receiving prophylactic chemotherapy following her diagnosis of an unidentified form of cancer, this is his first night away from home. William travelled to Newquay to view the construction of a novel and inventive housing project at a location in Nansledan.

Its purpose is to tackle the problem of homelessness. The Duchy, which William inherited from his father when Charles became King in 2022, has never seen a project like this one before. The new homes will be built in collaboration with the neighbourhood nonprofit St Petrocs to offer 24 homes with comprehensive support for individuals experiencing homelessness. The project is modelled after William's Homewards initiative, which attempts to address homelessness throughout the United Kingdom.

The Duchy has donated the land for the project and will use its experience in design and management to steer the entire development. William visited the site today for the first time with Duchy, St Petrocs, and Homewards representatives in the hopes that the project may encourage other government agencies and local groups to start something similar.

September is when construction is scheduled to begin, with completion anticipated in the autumn of 2025. "Work on the Innovative Housing initiative in Nansledan has been moving at pace since the initiative was launched in February," a representative for Kensington Palace stated. "Construction is scheduled to begin in September on the finalised designs, and it is expected to be finished by autumn 2025.

"The Prince will visit the location of the new residences for the first time today. He is eager to learn more about the work's advancement from the Duchy team and the project's potential effects on the local homeless population from St Petrocs. "His Royal Highness and the Duchy hope that others may be inspired by this endeavour." William went to Fistral Beach, one of the best places in Europe to surf, later in the afternoon to witness how the locals were getting ready for the busy summer season.

During the Prince's meeting with representatives from two local Surf Life Saving clubs, who participated in training drills, the emphasis was on remaining safe in the sea and on the beach. During his two-day visit to Cornwall, Prince William stunned social media followers by sporting a daring pair of designer sunglasses that cost £150.

Yesterday on Fistral Beach in Newquay, Cornwall, the 41-year-old Prince of Wales participated in an unplanned volleyball match with youths from a nearby lifesaving club. Many members of the public who were at the beach to take advantage of the springtime sunshine and temperatures that were around 16C were happy to see the Royal.

There was also a light breeze. The Prince wore navy trousers and a light-blue shirt with the Finlay and Co. Marshall in Smoke Sunglasses for the visit. Today, on his first official visit to the Isles of Scilly, he donned the shades once more.
