Gio Aplon was an electric player. Whenever he touched the ball, the crowd got excited because anything could happen. I remember seeing him play for the University of Stellenbosch in 2004 and I realized here was something special.

He made his name at Western Province and he will be remembered mostly for his time at The Stormers, but he also spent some time in France and ended his career with the Bulls.
