Dramatic footage reveals the moment Israeli special forces recaptured an outpost from Hamas militants.

Israel has told the United Nations that more than a million people living in northern Gaza should relocate to the south of the Palestinian territory within the next 24 hours.

The UN called for the order to be rescinded on humanitarian grounds. “The United Nations strongly appeals for any such order, if confirmed, to be rescinded, avoiding what could transform what is already a tragedy into a calamitous situation,” said Stéphane Dujarric, a spokesman for the UN secretary-general.

Dujarric said the same order applied to all UN staff and those sheltered in UN facilities — including schools, health centres and clinics. The order applies to about half the population of the Gaza Strip.
