On March 3rd, 2020, Officer Lagasse of the Akron Police Department was dispatched to a residential address for a welfare check. Upon arrival, nothing initially seemed out of the ordinary. The front door was shut, and a silver four-door car was parked in the driveway. As he approached the front door, he noticed another Akron Police cruiser approaching. He knocked on the door, but there was no immediate response. Knocking a second time, he suddenly heard the distressing sound of a female screaming from inside the residence.
