Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) lit the House GOP up over its continued efforts to impeach President Joe Biden. Moskowitz used his time during the testimony of Tony Bobulinski, a former business associate of Hunter Biden, to dare Republicans, specifically Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) to officially put impeachment to a vote.

Moskowitz’s theatrics also had a larger point. House Republican investigators have been investigating Biden for months, yet they have not officially indicated any kind of timeline on when they’d like to wrap the inquiry and proceed to a formal vote. Moskowitz argued this was because they knew they lack the evidence but insist on keeping the inquiry open to help them electorally.

It was recently revealed that one of the inquiry’s most damning sources was a U.S. intelligence asset who had gone rogue and was regurgitating Russian disinformation to authorities, including impeachment investigators. It was later revealed that members of the House GOP relied on this information to make their impeachment case against Biden, despite the FBI’s reluctance to them doing so.
