The new Qashqai is the first European model to be equipped with Nissan's e-POWER powertrain. It is a key element of the brand's electrification strategy, offering a more responsive, quiet and efficient ride.

The e-POWER system consists of a high-power battery supplemented by a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo-charged petrol engine with a variable compression ratio generating 158hp. The powertrain also includes an electric generator, inverter and a 190HP electric motor, similar in size and power to the typical Nissan electric car. The gasoline engine produces electricity that can be transferred by an inverter directly to the battery, electric motor, or both, depending on your needs.
