Richard "Rick" Sanchez (also known as Earth Rick Sanchez C-137 to other Ricks) is the titular main protagonist villain of the science fiction adult animated comedy series Rick and Morty. He is the grandfather of Mortimer "Morty" Smith and Summer Smith, ex-husband of Diane Sanchez, father of Beth Sanchez-Smith and father-in-law of Jerry Smith.

Although Rick is one of the main protagonists and is a loving and cherishing father and grandfather, he is extremely immoral, reckless and nihilistic and constantly places his family in dangerous situations while looking down on other people, especially his son-in-law. He is a parody of Doctor Emmett Lathrop "Doc" Brown, Bert and the Doctor.

He is voiced by Justin Roiland, who also voiced the Earl of Lemongrab in Adventure Time and Blendin Blandin in Gravity Falls. In Japanese dub, he is voiced by Yōhei Tadano, who also voiced Heinz Doofenshmirtz in Phineas and Ferb.
