Are the royal courtiers as bad as Meghan thinks? Valentine Low on the Sussexes | The Royal Tea |
|
Are the palace staff as bad as Harry and Meghan think? What can we expect from a 'budget' coronation next year? And how much tea will Mike Tindall spill in the I'm A Celebrity jungle? Welcome to episode two of TalkTV's weekly royal show The Royal Tea.
Sarah Hewson is joined by Times Royal Correspondent Valentine Low whose new book Courtiers lifts the lid on the palace power struggles and what's going on behind the scenes with the Royal Family's relationship with the shadowy staff. TalkTV regular and royal commentator Afua Hagan and The Sun's Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson make up the panel. They start the show with a chat about what we can expect from King Charles III's coronation which will take place on May 6th 2023. The panel agreed that while the coronation will be very different to Queen Elizabeth's in 1953, it will be equally spectacular although smaller in size. Following that the panel discusses Valentine Low's new book where he outlines how Meghan Markle asked Prince Harry to help her reach out for help when she was at her lowest mental state. He reveals where she made the call but questions whether we can believe what she says about how she was 'rebuffed' by royal staff. Sarah Hewson asks Matt Wilkinson whether 2023 will be The Sussexes year of reconciliation. He says they are redrafting their PR plan having written and produced a book and TV show. Afua Hagan questions how much Mike Tindall will reveal when he goes into the I'm A Celebrity jungle and expresses her surprise at the Royal Family allowing him to appear on the TV show. #talktv #talkradio |
